Giving Tuesday—which occurs on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving—is a day that celebrates the importance of generosity and provides nonprofit organizations with a unique opportunity to solicit donations.

Utilizing the momentum in the weeks approaching November 30th, Sprout and S.T.E.M. coordinated an aggressive fundraising campaign with the goal of offsetting operating expenses and expanding ongoing initiatives.

Donors were encouraged to earmark their contribution by adding a comment to their donation on the Sprout and S.T.E.M. GoFundMe page.

“Donors should have a voice in where their money is being designated," states Victor M. Hunt. "We realize that certain projects resonate with certain people."

After raising over $2,000, the organization is keen on increasing the availability of academic scholarships in 2022.  “We want to introduce a tiered system of scholarships—bronze, silver, and gold—that will vary between $250 and  $1000," says Lauren Szpond, a member of the Sprout and S.T.E.M. Board of Directors and the coordinator of the Giving Tuesday fundraising campaign. "What's most important is that we continue rewarding hard-working students who plan to pursue a career in S.T.E.M..” If not for these generous donors, Sprout and S.T.E.M. would be unable to provide disadvantaged students with educational resources. We, as an organization, would like to thank our supporters for making this fundraiser a success.
